X-Men Legends II Tips and Hints
The X-Men(TM) are back with an all new RPG based action adventure as their ongoing battle to protect humanity continues! This time the threat is so immense that Professor Xavier and his X-Men need to join forces with their sworn enemies, Magneto and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

These tips and hints are provided by the game developers.

Single Player

Act 1

* Select a team that consists of two strong characters (for example Colossus, Juggernaut, or Wolverine), as well as Iceman, and Jean Grey. Make sure you do not control Jean Grey -- allows the AI to heal your team members while in battle.

* When in a major battle (up against a difficult boss) keep an eye on Jean Grey's EP bar. When it's low, enter the stats menu and give her Energy Packs until she's full.

* Each time the characters level up, manually assign trait points to Strike and Body for the Strong Characters as well as Iceman; increase Focus for Jean Grey in the Stats menu.

* If the characters reach experience level 5, they will obtain a Skill point. Increase either Big Hit or Critical Strike for the Strong Characters as well as Iceman. Don't use the skill point assigned to Jean Grey.

* In the Grand Hall, make sure to take the X-Traction Point back to the Sanctuary and speak with Beast. Sell grenades until you have enough techbits to buy as many Small Health Packs (50 max) and Smelling Salts (25 max) as possible.

* Use the X-Traction points every time you reach one. This allows you to max out your health packs and energy packs at the store.

* When in a Boss battle, keep hitting the Boss until 3 of the 4 X-Men are defeated, only then, enter the Stats menu and completely heal all members using Smelling Salts and Med Packs. When Jean Grey runs out of Energy (the Blue Bar) enter the stats menu and refill it using Energy Packs

* Note: Try and get the Headband when venturing through the Cerci Burrows. It is an important item. Equip it on Jean Grey.

* ** Major Tip ** : The entire game will but much easier if you can reach a very high level coming out of Act 1. Take advantage of the fact that levels reset and enemies regenerate. When I use the X-Traction point in the Queen's Lair, I often walk from the Sanctuary through the Dead Zone and through to the Queen's Lair so that I can gain experience from the enemies again.

Act 2

* Use the same four characters in Act 2 (it will be beneficial to use the same characters because new characters will start with only 80% of the experience).

* Complete the quest to save Destiny in the Jungle Canal because you need the experience to defeat the bosses.

* Equip an item whenever possible -- especially gloves, wristbands, bracers, etc.

* Collect as many items as possible through breakable/searchable objects! (VERY IMPORTANT).

* After collecting the four Nuwali keys in the Jungle Pass, go back to Avalon and buy as many Medium Med Packs from Forge as possible -- then return to the Jungle Pass and fight Sauron.

* In the Nuwali Temple, try to find the triggers before collection the stones. (There is a dialogue warning about this in the game). The Behemoths are too strong. Note: You may choose to fight them for experience.

* Note: When in the Nuwali Temple, make sure to obtain the Fury of the Ancients. Equip it to either of the Strong team members.

* ** Major Tip **: Use grenades during Boss battles to determine the status effects that they are susceptible to and exploit it if possible. For example, some bosses may not be immune to Stun -- using Juggernaut's Stun Smash will do damage as well as stun and give the X-Men the chance to do damage and not get hit.

Act 3

* This is the longest and most difficult act. It will be frustrating because many of the necessary elements for completing the objectives are hard to find. My best tip would be to use the Map (1 Key). There is a fog-of-war system set up so that the player can only view the area that they have already explored. Before moving to new locations, try and explore the entire map.

* The Core should be relatively easy, the hardest part will be the battle with Sugar Man (make sure to stock up on Med Packs before the battle).

* The Infinite factory can be very difficult. If you're having troubles with Assassin Drones, try selecting Storm as a team member in place of Iceman. Set her to the 'Defensive' stance in the stat menu and upgrade her 'Lightning Bolt' skill when available.

* The Madri Temples are long and time-consuming. The only difficult section will be the Bosses at the end of the mission. If you chose Storm for the Infinite Factory, switch her back with Iceman. After collecting and placing all the artifacts, go back to town and buy as many med packs as possible. Then return and enter the portal to fight the bosses.

* ** Major Tip **: Every 5 character levels, I enter the equipment menu. I completely unequipped all items and then equipped brand new items. Due to level restrictions and pick-ups that you may be unaware of, you could have had items equipped that weren't powerful enough at the time.

Act 4

* Act 4 should not be too much trouble. The difficulty in this Act lies in the fact that the player has to run between levels, back and forth often. (This is actually good for experience -- search the entire level to make sure to defeat all enemies and level up as often as possible)

* You don't have to play the Perimeter Platforms to advance in the game, you can skip it unless you want to collect items and gain experience.

* Once inside Apocalypse's Tower, you may want to have Storm available again because there are Assassin Drones.

* There is one area that has enemies that will regenerate and there will be dialogue indicating it in the game. Run past the enemies (go North-East as far as you can) to the disablers. Only if the user triggers the computer will they be able to defeat the enemies.

* Use the same techniques described in the Act 1 section when fighting Dark Angel at the end of this Act.

* ** Major Tip **: Scarlet Witch is a powerful character in the later stages of the game. Her skill 'Perfect Storm', when upgraded, will not only do damage but will freeze enemies for a good duration of time. If Iceman isn't doing the job, try swapping him for Scarlet Witch. Make sure that the user controls Scarlet Witch and use Perfect Storm on each enemy.

Act 5

* The most difficult part of Act 5 will be gaining all the necessary objects. Make sure to use the Map key to figure out where hidden rooms are. (Remember that breakable walls appear slightly different).

* Use the same 4 characters that were used at the beginning of the game. After finding all the necessary elements in order to get through the locked door at the end (the Sun Gem, the Staff, and the Mirror) go back to Forge and buy as many med packs as you can. Through the locked door is Dark Beast, and soon after that is Apocalypse. Note: Use the X-traction point after Dark Beast to go back and buy more Med Packs if necessary.

* Note: Save as often as you can throughout the game. Sometimes you won't want to rely on the Autosave.

* ** Major Tip **: Defeat Turrets as quickly as possible. They should be the first thing the user targets and defeats in a battle (even when up against Dark Beast)

X-Men Legends 2 - Bluetooth Multiplayer Tips

* While playing a multiplayer game try to stick together. Your team will be stronger this way.

* The Game does not pause when accessing in-game quick menus during multiplayer match. Health and energy packs should be used through the stats screen when in battle.

* It's a good idea to set one teammate's stance to healer. If playing a two or three player multiplayer game make the AI control the healer.

* Try to coordinate your special attacks. Have one teammate stun enemy while others use melee attack.

* Sometimes it's a good idea to leave one teammate at an entrance. This way if the rest of your team dies the user can always return to previous safe area.

Note: A lot of the single player tips are applicable to multiplayer gameplay.

X-Men Legends 2 - N-Gage Arena Multiplayer Tips

* When starting a game, lower techbit games favor the X-Men team while higher techbit games favour the Horsemen side.

* Energy and Healing Doses are very effective at lower levels.

* Grenades have little effect against Horsemen characters due to the high resist rate by the Bosses.

* Characters with natural health regeneration are stronger: (Wolverine, Iron Man, Zealot, Apocalypse).

* Characters with large movement range are difficult to kill: (Rogue, Iron Man, Juggernaut, Mikhail).

* High Energy Point characters deal the most damage: (Zealot, Apocalypse, Darkbeast, Bastion, Cuckoo).

* Horsemen characters start with high Health Points.

* At lower levels, medium health packs will adequately fill the character's health.

* Smelling salts -- always remember to use the first character in a turn to revive other players. Later characters can be used to heal. If a recently revived person is not healed, they are easy XP points for the opposing player.

* Stronger generic characters are Behemoth, High Priest, Infinite, Sentinel.
