On many forums you see people asking for stuff like this:
C:\system\data\Logdbu.dat Why is it that the size of this file under system/data keeps on growing everytime i use my phone? How can that be stopped or reduce the size. I'm using 7650, my apps are OPERA 6.1, FEXPLORER, and MEMORY MONITOR. And I've set up 1 pop3 mail. Pls help... Thanks
There are even people who claimed that this file kept growing till 2 or 3Mb. Since N-gage also holds this file and it also grows... You can either stop the phone from logging you phone calls and stuff.
Or you can do it my way:
What we are gonna do is make a backup from your phones memmory to your MMC. WHY??? Are you gonna ask me....well thats because when doing so the phone does NOT protect the files on C:\ anymore
SO open: MENU ---> TOOLS ---> MEMMORY Options and press MAKE BACKUP FROM DEVICE MEMMORY
Now it will ask you YES or NO
DONT press yes YET!!
Now press your menu button and open Fexplorer Go to C:\system\data In here is the file Logdbu.dat
Press and HOLD the MENU button to switch back to the memmory backup program and NOW press yes as soon as it starts backing up your device
switch back to Fexplorer!! and COPY the file Logdbu.dat and PASTE it on E:\
Now you have backuped your Logfile.
If now the file ever goes increasing till weird size!!
Referce this process to overwrite the big one with the one you just backed-up
SO open: MENU ---> TOOLS ---> MEMMORY Options and press MAKE BACKUP FROM DEVICE MEMMORY
Now it will ask you YES or NO
DONT press yes YET!!
Now press your menu button and open Fexplorer and COPY the file Logdbu.dat which you have saved on E:\
Press and HOLD the MENU button to switch back to the memmory backup program and NOW press yes as soon as it starts backing up your device
switch back to Fexplorer!! and PATSTE the file in: C:\system\data
Thats how it works even Nokia knew no awnser to this problem when I asked them on the phone Enjoy!!
